How It Works
It’s simple – you collect the clothes – we collect them – payment is made!
Who benefits?
Anyone can get involved, from individuals to private companies or schools and youth clubs but obviously, the more clothes you collect – the more cash you get.
What do we collect?
It doesn’t just stop at clothes either. We will collect your old shoes, belts, and even books.
How do you do it?
- If you are involved in a playgroup/mother and toddler group then why not get together with the other parents and arrange to collect as many bags of items as you can?
- Walk around any car boot sale and you will see lots of stalls filled with outgrown kiddies clothing and other items.
- By recycling them in this way, they not only get put to good use, but you can get cash back to plough into your own group. No more standing in muddy fields on Sunday mornings or sitting through endless coffee mornings!
- We will give you all the help you need to get you started– from designing posters and target charts to advice on what you can and can’t collect.
- To make it more fun, why not organise a competition with a prize for whoever collects the most bags? You could even make it a monthly event – alongside your coffee mornings!
- And of course, when you’re ready, we simply arrange a convenient time to call, pick up the bags and then make payment!
- The same goes for Cubs and Scouts, Brownies and Guides or the local Youth Centre or Church group. Anyone can get involved.
How much will we get?
- We are currently paying £500 per ton for your unwanted bags. An average black bag of clothing weighs around 10k so if you could get 10 people to collect ten bags each then you could be collecting £500 to spend on that new piece of equipment you’ve been waiting for or whatever it is that your group would benefit from.
What happens to the clothes?
- All items are sorted and those suitable are sent to third world countries or to help those in situations experiencing extreme poverty. Items that cannot be reused either go for fibre reclamation to make new clothes or other textiles or will be used to make industrial cloths. Nothing gets wasted
What happens now?
- Once you have decided on you plan of action give us a call on 01384 232 238 to sign up for help and advice and arrange for your collection date. It couldn’t be simpler and you’ll soon have your cash to spend as you wish.
Where do we collect from?
- We cover all areas in the West Midlands region so wherever you are, you could soon be doing your own fundraising and helping others at the same time. We collect from Birmingham, West Bromwich, Lichfield, Coventry, Telford, Stafford, Wolverhampton, Burton, Derby, Nottingham, Tamworth, Leicestershire, Loughborough, Stourbridge, Bromsgrove, Coventry, Warwick, Rugby, Hinckley, Worcester, Leamington Spa, Banbury, Gloucester, Northampton, Hereford, Stoke on Trent, Newcastle Under Lyne, Nuneaton, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Dudley, Redditch, Cheltenham. We provide national coverage providing there is over 1 tonne, approx 150-200 bags.
